    Position: Medication Technician

    Overview: We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The Medication Technician will play a crucial role in administering medications to residents under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals in accordance with state regulations and facility policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to resident safety and well-being, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of medication administration procedures.

    Responsibilities:
    • Administer prescribed medications to residents accurately and safely according to physician orders and established medication administration protocols.
    • Perform medication reconciliation upon admission and ensure accurate documentation of medications received by residents.
    • Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects following medication administration and report findings to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medication administration records, including documentation of medications administered, doses given, and any deviations from prescribed regimens.
    • Assist with medication storage, inventory management, and ordering of medications and supplies as needed.
    • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain cleanliness and organization in medication storage areas.
    • Provide assistance and support to residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and high-quality care for residents.
    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to stay current on medication administration practices, regulations, and best practices.
    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Completion of a state-approved medication technician training program and certification as a Medication Technician (MT) or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) preferred.
    • Previous experience working in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
    • Strong understanding of medication administration principles and practices, including proper dosage calculations and routes of administration.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to resident care.
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
