- Negotiates and manages blanket PO's, stocking agreements, pricing, supplier lead times, and MOQ's.
- Manages PO liability.
- Manages ECO changes, including phase-in/phase-out planning and scrap management.
- Achieve design inventory by creating and managing an inventory reduction plan.
- Drives part shortage reduction (frequency and time) through root cause analysis.
- Provide forecasts to vendors, as needed.
- Create min-max reports and backlog.
- Negotiate with vendors and expedite deliveries, as needed.
- Manager the backlog of one or multiple production lines.
- B.S. degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of buying/planning experience in a production environment.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage several tasks and priorities.
- 2-3 years of experience using Oracle highly desired, as well as experience using Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, results-oriented/data-driven, with excellent communication skills and a desire to be a team player.

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for managing the material flow in one or multiple production lines in the San Jose manufacturing facility. He/she owns key metrics including inventory reduction, part shortage reduction, and on-time-delivery. He/she also manages relationships with the vendors to ensure that they are able to meet delivery requirements.
