    POSITION: Gas Service Technician Trainee

    DEPARTMENT: Gas Meter Service

    LOCATION: Brockton, MA

    CURRENTLY POSTED HOURS: Rotating Shifts

    ROLE & SCOPE:

    The Gas Service Technician is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining gas meters, regulators, gas lines and gas appliances. Testing for gas leaks. Working on boilers, ovens, gas fireplaces, gas-fired refrigerators, hydronic heating systems, and related. Installing and connecting appliances to gas, water, and electrical supplies.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. High School Education or equivalent

    2. Must have 2 years of related experience, gas utility experience preferred.

    4. This position will require the satisfactory completion of company training programs and evaluations.

    5. Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment/pre-placement drug test in accordance with D.O.T regulations.

    6. Must possess a valid driver's license.

    7. Ability and willingness to perform heavy physical work indoors and outdoors in all seasons and at times for extended periods.

    8. Must have a work history that demonstrates safe work habits.

    COMPENSATION:

    The hourly rate for this position starts at Step 1, $39.81, and progresses in accordance with the union contract.
