- Bachelor's or master's degree in athletic training
- BOC Athletic Trainer certification is required
- North Carolina State License is required
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Current National Athletic Training Association (NATA) Membership
- Previous experience in an orthopedic clinic setting preferred
- Ability to perform duties by taking initiative without direct daily supervision
- Maintain an adequate knowledge base regarding precautions for the patient undergoing physical medicine services and treatments
- Observe patients during therapy sessions to assess their progress, noting any challenges they may be experiencing
- Communicates patients' progress or any concerns about their health status to the supervising Therapists
- Prepare patients for treatment by helping them get into position on treatment tables
- Assist patients with their exercises and other tasks to promote recovery
- Maintain medical records on patients' progress during treatment sessions
- Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
- Ensures timely communication with the patient regarding the plan of care and response to questions or concerns
- Maintains compliance with infection control policies and procedure
- Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality guidelines established by the practice
- Maintains compliance with continuing education requirements to maintain current certifications, licensures, etc.
