With offices across North Carolina, the primary function of the Certified Athletic Trainer is to work with physical therapy/occupational therapy patients in an out patient orthopedic setting instructing patient in exercise programs with a bias towards work conditioning clients.

    Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience
    • Bachelor's or master's degree in athletic training
    • BOC Athletic Trainer certification is required
    • North Carolina State License is required
    • Current First Aid and CPR certification
    • Current National Athletic Training Association (NATA) Membership
    • Previous experience in an orthopedic clinic setting preferred
    • Ability to perform duties by taking initiative without direct daily supervision
    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
    • Maintain an adequate knowledge base regarding precautions for the patient undergoing physical medicine services and treatments
    • Observe patients during therapy sessions to assess their progress, noting any challenges they may be experiencing
    • Communicates patients' progress or any concerns about their health status to the supervising Therapists
    • Prepare patients for treatment by helping them get into position on treatment tables
    • Assist patients with their exercises and other tasks to promote recovery
    • Maintain medical records on patients' progress during treatment sessions
    • Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
    • Ensures timely communication with the patient regarding the plan of care and response to questions or concerns
    • Maintains compliance with infection control policies and procedure
    • Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality guidelines established by the practice
    • Maintains compliance with continuing education requirements to maintain current certifications, licensures, etc.
