- Conducts one-on-one interviews and moderates focus groups with military populations
- Assists with the preparation and management of multiple qualitative databases, including cleaning data, importing data, and preparing project codebooks
- Maintains meticulous records of data analysis procedures and findings
- Assists in the development of qualitative coding frameworks and definitions
- Code qualitative data and participate in regular consensus building meetings with other analysts
- Identifies overarching themes and subthemes in a variety of datasets including interviews and focus groups
- Contribute to the development of briefs, presentations, reports, and infographics
- Assists in the development of evidence-based recommendations for the improvement of the health and readiness of service members
- Presents research findings and recommendations to military leadership at briefs, meetings, and professional conferences
- Assists in identification of factors that may impact the implementation of recommendations in operational environments
- Masters degree in health science, public health, psychology, or other health related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of significant research experience with qualitative data sets
- Experience with , NVIVO, or other qualitative data analysis software
- Experience with program and/or process evaluation
- Ability to be a self-starter and work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work.
- Ability to communicate scientific findings to diverse audiences
- Willingness to travel to operational environments in the U.S
- Due to federal contract restrictions, candidate must be a U.S
- PhD in health science, public health, psychology, or other health related discipline and at least 1 year of significant research experience with qualitative data sets
- Familiarity with military populations and operational environments
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and write complex documents such as project reports, technical reports, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication Naval Health West - NHW

The Leidos Health & Civil Sector is seeking a full-time Qualitative Data Analyst to support the Psychological Health and Readiness Department at the Naval Health Research Center, San Diego, CAThe qualitative data analyst will provide analytical support for several research projects including an evaluation of an existing military family readiness program and assessments of Sailor's mental and behavior health, perceptions of cohesion and leadership, and their experiences with work-related stressors that may be unique to operational settings
The candidate will possess a deep understanding of qualitative research and implementation science methods, excellent communication skills, and a passion for converting qualitative data into evidence-based recommendations
