    Job Summary

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Communications Technology Intern to join our team at the DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION RESOURCES. This is an unpaid High School Volunteer Opportunity that will provide valuable learning experiences and exposure to different areas of technology and state government.

    About the Role

    The TechQuest: Empowering Future Innovators high school volunteer program will offer you the chance to learn and develop skills in telecommunications, customer service, and technology. You will work closely with our experienced team members and gain hands-on experience in installing and maintaining Capitol Complex Telephone System (CCTS) telephones.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Learn how to be a liaison for assigned State agencies for all CCTS voice services, including move, add, change (MAC) work orders for creating and disconnecting phones.
    • Maintain accurate records and documents related to phone installations and maintenance.
    • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless communication and problem-solving.

    Requirements

    To be considered for this role, you must:

    • Be a current high school student between the ages of 16 to 18.
    • Possess good standing high school academic records.
    • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
