    Therapeutic Development In-vivo Pharmacology Scientist, reporting to the CDO, will lead in-vivo therapeutic development preclinical team. This person will bring strong scientific expertise in conducting IND-enabling studies across a diverse range of disease states, preferably using gene therapy and/or oligonucleotide therapy. The TD In-vivo Pharmacology Scientist will be responsible for preclinical studies to advance multiple lead therapeutic candidates from early research through IND enabling studies toward clinical development.

    This position is based in South San Francisco, CA, and the Therapeutic Development In-vivo Pharmacology Scientist is expected to be onsite five days a week.
    Responsibilities


    • Plan, manage and conduct IND enabling in-vivo pre-clinical studies for multiple therapeutic programs in parallel.

    • Lead identification, development and implementation of novel animal models and methods to asses multiple products for in vivo mechanism of action, efficacy and safety studies enabling IND and BLA submissions.

    • Coordinate and oversee preclinical testing for multiple IND programs in parallel. Manage multiple projects and collaborations with aggressive project deliverables and timelines.

    • For each program, maintain high quality standards and rigorous quality control, as well as identify best practices and areas for process improvement.

    • Create / manage good documentation system supporting regulatory submissions. Document diligently on all experimental designs, protocols, data collection, and reports. Write and review standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Analytical Methods.

    • Organize and present data internally and externally. Prepare periodical data summaries for the senior management review.

    • Participate in recruiting and leading a Therapeutic Development in-vivo team. Actively mentor and train group members on planning, experimental design and analysis.

    • Collaborate with the research team on the platform technology development, internal pipeline strategy, candidate selection, and external activities such as R&D partnering and academic collaborations, as well as vendor management.

    • Serve as a role model for innovative problem solving, focused execution, cooperation, and collaboration-friendly conduct.

    • Creatively contribute to innovation including inventorship on patent filings and authorship on scientific publications and presentations.
