    Role Summary:
    The Customer Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for property owners regarding the collection of delinquent municipal taxes and fees. In this role, you will handle inbound calls and voicemail inquiries, providing detailed information about unpaid claims, negotiating payment terms, and assessing hardship eligibility.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintain knowledge of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) and Municipal Claims and Tax Liens Act (MCTLA), along with PLA procedures.
    • Manage a high volume of incoming calls and website inquiries, adhering to PLA protocols.
    • Promptly return voicemail messages to property owners following established guidelines.
    • Quickly assess file statuses to deliver appropriate responses to inquiries.
    • Negotiate payment arrangements that align with client and PLA standards, accurately calculating payments and recording instructions.
    • Evaluate caller situations for hardship consideration and assist with application preparation as needed.
    • Document detailed and precise call summaries, ensuring proper file records.
    • Communicate effectively with legal staff, account managers, and other departments.
    • Handle dissatisfied callers, resolve complaints, and redirect inquiries when necessary.
    • Meet established key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Attend the office as scheduled and perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Confident and clear speaking voice on the phone.
    • Engaging verbal skills paired with excellent active listening abilities.
    • Demonstrated poise, empathy, and tact in communications.
    • Adept at synthesizing information from diverse sources.
    • Ability to analyze conversations rapidly and provide succinct, accurate summaries.
    • Strong relationship-building skills, working effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
    • Proficiency in MS Office.
    • Dependable with a solid work ethic and integrity.
    • One to three years of experience managing collection claims in accordance with the FDCPA and FCEUA.
    • Fluency in Spanish is a plus (premium pay available).

    Education and/or Experience:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • One to three years of experience in managing collection claims under the FDCPA and FCEUA.
