    Overview:

    The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Children's Minnesota is seeking a BC/BE fellowship trained Hematopathologist. Expertise or special interest in flow cytometry and/or pediatric pathology is desired. Adult trained pathologists encouraged to apply

    Department Summary

    The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Children's Minnesota receives approximately 10,000 surgical and cytology specimens and processes nearly 1 million laboratory tests per year. The hematopathology service interprets approximately 1,300 bone marrow biopsies and peripheral blood morphologies, 1,550 cytology preparations and 225 flow cytometry cases. We have recently acquired a 10 color flow cytometry analyzer and are actively developing in-house minimal residual disease and advanced immunology testing capabilities.

    Childrens Minnesotas Cancer and Blood Disorders program is the largest in the region, treating more than 70% of children diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders in Minnesota.

    The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is very collegial and enjoys a close consultative relationship with all clinical and surgical services.

    Qualifications

    • BC/BE in Clinical Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
    • BC/BE in Hematopathology
    • MD, DO with a current Minnesota Medical License or the ability to obtain one.
    • Ability to be successfully credentialed by both Hospital and 3rd Party Payers.
