    Commercial Real Estate Property Accountant - Dallas, Texas

    Job Overview: The Commercial Real Estate Property Accountant will be instrumental in overseeing the financial details and reporting for commercial properties within our Dallas portfolio. We are seeking an individual with profound knowledge in commercial real estate accounting and proficiency in industry-specific software tools. In this role, you will engage regularly with property managers, vendors, and various stakeholders to ensure the financial soundness and integrity of our operations.

    Key Responsibilities:
    1. Financial Reporting & Analysis:
      • Compile, analyze, and present financial data in preparation for inclusion in diverse financial statements and accounting reports.
      • Produce and review monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
      • Uphold the accuracy of all financial ledgers and reports.
    2. Account Management:
      • Oversee receivables, document them in tenant ledgers via YARDI, and oversee collections of overdue accounts.
      • Conduct monthly reconciliation of bank statements, addressing discrepancies in a timely manner.
      • Supervise banking activities, ensuring any irregularities are promptly resolved.
      • Validate and approve AP vendor invoices based on property number, coding, description, and permissions.
    3. Budgeting & Forecasting:
      • Participate in the creation of yearly budgets and any necessary reforecasts for properties.
      • Investigate revenue and expenditure patterns, recommending suitable budget allocations.
      • Engage with property managers for punctual reporting and to ensure effective expenditure oversight.
    4. Compliance & Controls:
      • Uphold the principles of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in all accounting endeavors.
      • Sustain and oversee accounting control protocols.
      • Act as the primary contact for both internal and external audits, supplying relevant data and responding to inquiries to expedite the auditing process.
      • Ensure protection of company assets, inclusive of intellectual property, by maintaining confidentiality.
    5. General Administration:
      • Preserve records such as accounts, ledgers, journals, files, reports, and other documents for both property and company accounts.
      • Foster collaboration with various teams, including property managers and project managers, on financial affairs.
      • Address special reporting and accounting assignments as required.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, at a minimum. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
    • At least five years of professional experience in commercial real estate accounting.
    • Proficiency in utilizing commercial real estate software, especially YARDI.
    • A thorough understanding of the real estate finance and investment field, both in theory and practice.
    • Exceptional communication and people skills.
    Preferred Experience:
    • Familiarity with MRI software.
    • Previous experience in managing a commercial properties portfolio.
    • Robust networking abilities with industry professionals such as brokers, CPAs, attorneys, etc.
