    Title: Mortgage Origination Manager

    Reports to: Chief Sales Officer

    Supervises: Mortgage Loan Advisors

    Status: Exempt

    Objective

    The Mortgage Origination Manager will lead our mortgage origination team in providing excellent service, ensuring quality loan origination, and driving business growth. This manager will oversee a team of inside and outside sales Mortgage Loan Officers. This role must also maintain a solid knowledge and understanding of our current mortgage products and systems while training and coaching staff on those items and will play an integral role in partnering with business partners on product, process and system enhancements based on member and associate feedback.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manages mortgage origination team, which includes recruiting, training, developing, and coaching
      • Motivates and leads the team to achieve service standards and sales production goals
      • Leads department and team meetings
    • Handles internal borrower questions, inquiries, and complaints
    • Manages, monitors, and measures department processes and procedures to maximize efficiency while supporting the credit union's financial goals and the borrower's best interest
    • Develops and implements strategies to improve service and quality of work
    • Develops relationships with industry professionals to grow and maintain a referral network. Coach the mortgage origination team to grow and maintain their own relationships
    • Leverages resources to monitor the performance of the mortgage origination team, identify patterns and trends causing issues, and work towards business solutions. Recommend new and more efficient processes to improve turn times and quality of work
    • Acts as a liaison between the sales team and the operations team developing strong relationships with mortgage operations and processing associates to collectively deliver a great experience to members and achieve overall goals
    • Acts as a marketing lead for the origination team.
      • Filters requests from individual Mortgage Loan Advisors, submit project requests, and consult on marketing strategies
    • Responsible for the mortgage origination team's product knowledge and continued education
    • Supports and participate in department and credit union projects and initiatives
    • Communicates with Senior Management on business needs and issues
    • Develops a working knowledge of Credit Union's systems
    • Performs other duties as required by Credit Union management
    • Develops an understanding of Credit Union history, philosophy, organization, policies, and operational procedures
    • On a self-directed basis, continues to improve individual level of competency through training and certification on established educational programs
    • Must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions:
      • Performs work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading, or speaking with others
      • Responds appropriately to feedback from a supervisor
      • Manages conflict effectively

    Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in mortgage origination
    • 2+ years of experience as a sales Manager within the financial industry
    • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is preferred
    • Ability to successfully manage and coach a team across remote and in-person settings
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
