    Description

    Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator at Vestas

    Are you ready to join a dynamic team where you will play a key role in the operation of heavy equipment to support packaging, shipping, and transportation activities for Nacelles, Hubs, and other components at Vestas? As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will have the opportunity to operate various machinery while ensuring safety and efficiency.

    Responsibilities:

    • Safely operate heavy equipment including cranes, forklifts, and graders
    • Conduct daily safety inspections and maintain records
    • Perform initial maintenance and repairs on equipment
    • Handle the movement and preparation of components for shipping
    • Maintain inventory records and assist with snow removal when necessary
    • Ensure regular and reliable attendance
    • Complete any other assigned tasks

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in heavy equipment operation
    • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and lift heavy objects
    • Basic math and computer skills

    Nice to Have:

    • Certifications in relevant areas such as rigging, welding, and heavy equipment operations
    • Knowledge of rail and truck transport

    Physical Demands:

    • Lifting and exerting force according to proper techniques
    • Climbing ladders with fall protection

    Work Environment:

    Be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions, on different modes of transport such as rail and trucks, and in an industrial storage yard
