    Join our team as a Payroll Specialist at our growing company! We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to work under the direction of the Director of Payroll. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that our District employees are paid accurately and on time.     RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Prepares and maintains time reporting documents to comply with labor laws. (E)
    • Reviews time sheets for accuracy and completeness. (E)
    • Inputs employee data into payroll systems. (E)
    • Audits time reports and verifies compliance with rules. (E)
    • Balances financial and payroll records. (E)
    • Communicates with employees to resolve payroll discrepancies. (E)
    • Prepares payroll-related reports. (E)
    • Provides employment verifications. (E)
    • Collaborates with County offices and State agencies. (E)
    • Assists in resolving complex payroll issues. (E)
    • Prepares retirement reports for CALSTRS. (E)
    • Maintains records on employee leaves and garnishments. (E)
    • Performs clerical duties and operates office equipment. (E)

    QUALIFICATIONS
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    High school graduation with accounting coursework and three years of payroll experience.

    KNOWLEDGE OF:
    Payroll processes, financial record-keeping, office practices, State Education Code, etc.

    ABILITY TO:
    Perform various Payroll/Accounting duties with independence and initiative.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    Fast-paced office environment.

    • Ensure transcripts and certifications are current and complete.
    • Follow instructions for out-of-country transcript evaluation.
