    Position Summary

    This ambulatory clinic position offers exposure to a wide variety of otolaryngology specialty services such as rhinology, laryngology, and neurotology.

    Position provides healthcare services typically performed by a physician, under the supervision of a physician; conducts complete physicals, provides treatment, and counsels patients; may, in some instances, prescribe medication.

    Job Description

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities


    • Performs physical assessments/examinations.
    • Assesses and counsels patients and obtains medical histories.
    • Coordinates screening for research studies.
    • Collects and records data per research requirements and guidelines.
    • Bills for professional services as permitted by the collaborative practice agreement.
    • Interprets diagnostic tests results for deviations from normal.
    • Prescribes therapy or medication with physician approval.
    • Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram and laboratory test.
    • Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, endoscopy, nasal debridement, perform minor biopsies, suturing and wound care and infection management.
    • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in service meetings and workshops.
    • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objective, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
    Preferred Qualifications


    • Working knowledge of physician assistant theory and practice with one to three years of experience.
    • Organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience in an ENT office.
    Required Qualifications


    • Graduate of PA program.
    • REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/

    REGISTRATION:

    Current PA licensure to practice in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois depending on location or ability to obtain within 3 months of date of hire; Certain/additional certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty; Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

    Salary Range

    $84, $152,300.00 / Annually

    The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.

    Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
