    Sorting Operator P4 2nd Shift

    AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Sorting Operator to be located in Crossville, TN. Reporting to the Sorting Department Supervisor.

    JOB DUTIES:

    • Grade tile and shading tile.
    • Complete 5S and TPM and all other necessary paperwork.
    • Clean the line.
    • Operate the unloader (BNT); Help LGVs go into the bays; turn alarms off and reset BNT
    • Work with the Kiln Department on color changes. Contact Kiln Department to set up on the next color. Get numbers off computer and put the information on 3 boards and 3 clipboards. Put up color samples of colors finished.
    • Move the head to the next full platform when one empties.
    • Reset hoppers; bust tile down and replace full hoppers with empty ones.
    • Put boxes in the lines.
    • Perform a daily car count to determine how much tile has to be run of each color.
    • Set the lines up and determine what will be coming from S&S or Kiln Departments.
    • Keep viewing room clean and orderly.
    • Complete size changes.
    • Report any issues to the next shift.
    • Dispose of cardboard and put in bailer, emptying bailer when needed.
    • Operate a forklift and a floor jack.
    • Work on Kaizen for continuous improvement.
    • Utilize Gemba board to effectively communicate issues.
    • Assist other departments as necessary.
    • Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and other departments.
    • Follow safety guidelines and company standards, utilizing PPE as required.
    • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
    • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
    • Cross train inside department for coverage of Ware handler and Mechanic.
    • Perform any other duties that may be required or assigned.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
    • Good interpersonal skills in dealing with employees
    • Must be available to work overtime as necessary and other shifts as necessary
    • Must pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test, physical, and criminal background check

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Frequent climbing, bending, standing, walking at a brisk pace 8+ hours a day, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling
    • Occasional lifting 80 pounds, either alone or with the assistance of another employee, in conformity with lifting techniques detailed in safety policies and training materials
    • Frequent dexterity with hands for use of tools
    • Frequent vision must be sufficient to see tools and equipment clearly
    • Frequent hearing with the use of ear protection
