    Work Schedule:
    Full-time, Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm (Flexible start and end times depending on scheduling needs. This is an in-person position.)
    As a Workforce Development Mentor – AmeriCorps Volunteer, you'll...

    help connect employees with resources to reduce the barriers they experience and will help with job mentoring to become financially independent.

    The member will be supporting employees with intense job support and assisting with barriers such as food insecurity, job qualities, professionalism, and hygiene.

    (1) Write curriculum and teach classes in Life Skills, Financial Skills, Self-Care.

    (2) Mentor employees at our home office in Bremerton, Kitsap Naval Hospital, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Naval Base Bangor, Naval Base Keyport (3) Build at least 4 employer connections during service term.


    Typical duties include but are not limited to:

    • Write curriculum and teach classes in Life Skills, Financial Skills, and Self-Care.
    • Mentor employees at our home office in Bremerton, Kitsap Naval Hospital, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Naval Base Bangor, and Naval Base Keyport.
    • Find, build, and maintain at least four employer connections during service term.

    Summary of desired skills and experience for the Skookum Workforce Development Mentor – AmeriCorps Volunteer:

    • No previous experience required.
    • Teamwork, Computers/Technology, Teaching/Tutoring skills preferred.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
