    Description
    Mission Health in Asheville, North Carolina is seeking a medical director to lead our behavioral health team. Candidates should be board certified in psychiatry and bring at least 3 years of leadership experience.

    Qualified Candidates:

    • Board certified psychiatrist
    • Minimum of 5 years of previous experience as a practicing psychiatrist
    • Minimum of 3 years of medical director or leadership experience

    About Missions Behavioral Health Services:

    • Three adult, one geriatric, one child, and one adolescent inpatient unit totaling 82 beds
    • 23bed emergency department psychiatric evaluation area and 10bed behavioral health pod in the new Mission Hospital emergency department
    • Consultation on the pediatrics service and in the emergency department
    • Involvement in teaching and supervision as part of new residency training program through MAHEC, with academic appointment possible
