    Description
    Job Summary:
    As a Consultant-Liaison, your main duty is to evaluate and diagnose Health Plan members in primary care who are dealing with mental disorders or behavioral issues linked to their medical condition.
    Essential Responsibilities:
    • Apply principles of Health Psychology to create and assess treatment plans for referred members, involving crisis intervention, brief psychotherapy, psychoeducation groups, and brief case management.
    • Prepare concise intake evaluations and treatment plans, keeping confidential progress records in line with state and NCQA regulations.
    • Offer education and support to members and families to promote adherence to medical and behavioral routines.
    • Collaborate on medical conditions using nonpharmacologic and behavioral interventions to optimize physician time and establish suitable utilization patterns.
    • Administer and assess psychological and neuropsychological tests on a limited basis.
    • Collaborate with physicians to screen and assess patients for psychotropic medications within practice boundaries.
    • Provide guidance and training to other APC team members in mental health, behavioral medicine, and health psychology.
    • Consult on program development, and conduct program evaluation and outcome assessment as necessary.
    • Act as a liaison and refer to specialist services like the Psychiatry Department, Chemical Dependency Services, Behavioral Health Education, and other Medical Teams when needed.
    Basic Qualifications: Experience
    • N/A
    Education
    • PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited institution.
    License, Certification, Registration
    • Psychologist License (California) within 6 months of being hired.
    • National Provider Identifier required upon hiring.
    Additional Requirements:
    • Prior clinical experience in diagnosis, crisis intervention, brief individual and group psychotherapy, and collaboration with medical staff.
    • Familiarity with state regulations and APA standards concerning client treatment, patient rights, and confidentiality.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively as part of a team in a primary care environment.
    • If not licensed in CA upon hiring, must be licensed to practice in a U.S. state and able to practice under Business and Professional Code Section 2946 (maximum of 180 days, subject to regulation specifics).
    • Capacity to work in a Labor/Management Partnership setting.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Preferably knowledgeable in psychopharmacology and with a background in health psychology.
    • Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment is a plus.
