Description

Hi, we're Oscar. We're looking for an Actuarial Analyst II to join our Actuarial team at Oscar, the innovative health insurance company that prioritizes serving its members. Our mission, started in 2012, is to build the kind of health insurance company that resembles a supportive family doctor.

About the Position:

The Actuarial Analyst II role involves supporting Oscar's monitoring, trending, and forecasting processes for various Affordable Care Act (ACA) markets. You will collaborate closely with the Utilization Management team, offering insights on utilization patterns within a dynamic ACA portfolio. Responsibilities also include overseeing modeling for member-focused programs, identifying financial risks, and ensuring comprehensive reporting to align data insights with different teams throughout the organization. Reporting directly to the Director, Actuarial.

For this role, you are required to be within commuting distance to our New York City, Tempe, or Los Angeles office, with the option for remote work.

Compensation Details:

Base pay for this role ranges between $65,520 - $90,090 per year, with additional benefits such as participation in the unlimited vacation program, annual performance bonuses, and employee benefits.

Responsibilities include:

Maintaining and improving monitoring techniques
Forecasting trends in the budget and pricing process
Identifying utilization variations and utilizing findings to enhance member engagement programs
Offering actuarial opinions across cross-functional teams for ACA-compliant markets
Promoting and refining actuarial best practices, especially in automation and documentation
Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders
Assisting in the onboarding of analysts
Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
Performing other assigned duties

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA), or working towards the designation
Minimum of 1 year of quantitative analysis experience

Final compensation offers, based on the provided salary range, are determined by factors including skills, education, and experience.
