    Responsibilities

    Job Summary:


    This position is responsible for administering safe and competent respiratory care as ordered per physician, with emphasis in specialty areas (i.e., Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric and Critical Care), monitoring mechanical ventilation, administering medications, patient assessment, understanding ramifications of hemodynamic monitoring, understanding blood work results, monitoring, teaching, and training.


    Essential Functions:

    • Competent delivery of all Respiratory Care procedures as outlined in the department policy and procedure manual.
    • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all Respiratory Care procedures per department policy and procedures.
    • Verify Respiratory Care physician's orders. Initial, date, and time order after verification.
    • Receive and give accurate and complete reports. Update and complete patient profile card to reflect patient's current clinical status. Be prepared and ready to receive/give a report at the specified report times.
    • Attend and participate in department in-services, meetings, patient care rounds, and mandatory hospital meetings.
    • Keep Supervisor apprised of changes in workload and patient acuity.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Graduation from a two (2) year AMA approved School for Respiratory Care, passing score on the NBRC entry level examination

    Required Licensure and Certifications:

    • Must possess a valid Oregon respiratory care license
    • Must have current AMA BLS certification and maintain certification
    • Must have PALS, ACLS, and NRP within three (3) months of hire and maintain certification

    Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :


    • Skills to work independently essential.
    • Ability to speak, read and write English effectively is essential.
    • Ability to apply technical/professional knowledge as appropriate.
    • Analytic and clerical abilities are necessary to effectively provide patient care and safety
    • A comprehensive knowledge of the therapeutic and diagnostic procedures is essential

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Neonate experience

    Pay Range
    $ $38.26 /hour
