    Summary:

    This position provides and coordinates camp maintenance at Camp Shantituck in Shepherdsville, KY and works most Sundays. This position serves as an on-site resource to volunteers and co-workers.     Job Summary

    The Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana is a 110 year old organization that serves the western Kentucky and Southern Indiana region. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service and a memorable experience for our members. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Ranger to join our team and ensure the flawless operation and maintenance of our facility (Camp Shantituck located near Shepherdsville,KY).

    Camp Shantituck is one of our council's most popular and busiest properties. Located on Cedar Creek near Shepherdsville, KY, this 112-acre camp offers a variety of experiences for troops and larger groups. Buildings, platform tent sites, program shelters, picnic shelters, and primitive camping are all available.Shantituck hosts day camp from June through mid-August. The camp is available for troop meetings, activities and troop camping the rest of the year. There is also a central shower house. There is a teams course, a pool, adventure playground, archery/slingshots.

    Our Camp Rangers are responsible for the operations and maintenance of various Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana properties. You will be responsible for conducting maintenance throughout Camp Shantituck, ensure the safety of guests, and help keep our camp looking beautiful. Rangers will also interact with our members to provide excellent customer service through timely communication and a positive attitude. Our Rangers love spending time outdoors and do not mind getting their hands dirty


    General Accountabilities

    • Effectively manages financial and physical resources to achieve the mission of Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana
    • Exhibits effective communication skills and provides exemplary customer service to both internal and external customers
    • Reports incidents of abuse or potential abuse involving girls to the appropriate authorities and Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent


    Experience:

    • Experience with pool and pole maintenance
    • Knowledge or experience in general maintenance or related field

    Specific Skills and Requirements:

    • Able to maintain open communication with others
    • Able to be a partner and team player with others
    • Knowledge and demonstrated skills in the trades needed for general maintenance
      Prioritizes customer issues in a timely manner
    • Strong organization, oral and written communication skills

    Organizational Requirements:

    • Willingness to work flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends
    • Professional appearance, warm demeanor, positive attitude
    • Ability to work as a team member
    • Ability to successfully pass a background check
    • Able to obtain and maintain a Class IV sewage treatment plant operator's license
    • Proof of meeting state requirements regarding driver's license, and liability insurance, if applicable
    • Subscribe to the principals of the Girl Scout Movement and become a registered member of Girl Scouts

    Physical Requirements:

    • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
    • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
