    LHH is seeking a Grant Accountant for an open position in Grand Rapids, MI. The Grant Accountant is responsible for managing budgets, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, preparing financial reports, and assist with month end closing.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain detailed budgets for grant-funded projects, ensuring alignment with grant requirements and organizational goals.
    • Monitor grant budgets throughout the project lifecycle, tracking expenditures and ensuring spending is within approved limits.
    • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for grantors, including budget vs. actual analysis, expenditure reports, and financial statements.
    • Ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements, including submission deadlines and formatting guidelines.
    • Grant Compliance:
    • Stay informed about grant regulations, guidelines, and compliance requirements from funding agencies.
    • Monitor grant activities to ensure adherence to grant terms and conditions, flagging any potential issues or discrepancies.
    • Recordkeeping and Documentation:
    • Maintain detailed records of grant-related transactions, including invoices, receipts, and financial documentation.
    • Ensure all grant-related documentation is organized and easily accessible for audits and reporting purposes.
    • Financial Analysis:
    • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making related to grant-funded projects, such as cost-benefit analysis and financial forecasting.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in grant management processes.
    • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with grant managers, program directors, and finance team members to ensure effective communication and coordination of grant-related activities.
    • Provide financial guidance and support to grant project teams, helping them understand and manage grant budgets effectively.

    Qualifications:

    • 5 years of accounting experience
    • Grant accounting experience required
    • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance preferred
