    Accounting Manager


    Reporting to:
    Assistant Controller


    Location:
    Bentonville, Arkansas (4 days in office, 1 day remote)


    Art and Wellness Enterprises (AWE) is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as an Accounting Manager.

    AWE supports operating non-profits founded by Alice Walton including the Alice L. Walton Foundation, Alice L. Walton School of Medicine, Art Bridges, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Momentary, and Heartland Whole Health Institute.


    About the Position:
    As the Accounting Manager, in overseeing the financial operations of the organization.

    You will be responsible for managing the Accounts Payable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data and preparing reconciliations, and be involved in implementing and maintaining internal controls.


    What you will do:
    Key Roles & Responsibilities

    Lead and manage a team of accounts payable professionals.
    Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
    Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
    Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments to vendors.
    Develop and implement strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
    Regularly review and update accounts payable procedures to ensure compliance with changing regulations and industry best practices.
    Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounts payable function.
    Work cross-functionally to implement changes and streamline financial workflows.
    Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
    Perform other duties as required and necessary to accomplish goals and objectives.
    Development of process documentation

    Qualifications required for your success:
    The individual will have energy, intellectual capacity, strategic business acumen and professional integrity.


    The ideal background will include:
    Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or related field
    Experience in an accounting role focused on Accounts Payable and financial control processes.
    Payroll Accounting experience a plus
    Strong leadership and team management skills.
    Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
    Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
    Superb professionalism and diplomacy; ability to interact with high-level individuals internally and externally.
    Workday experience a plus
