    About The Position
    The

    Associate Director of Finance


    is responsible for providing accurate and timely full cycle accounting for SIFF's business activities including monthly close, internal budget to actual reporting with budget holders, cash flow projections and recording, tracking all accounts receivable including cinema revenue streams, and supervising the Finance Coordinator staff position.

    The Associate Director of Finance also ensures the accuracy of all accounting records, as well as tracking and meeting all external reporting, licensing, and other similar business responsibilities in a timely manner.

    Primary Supervisory Responsibilities:
    Finance Coordinator

    Primary Roles and Responsibilities

    Timely and accurate monthly close including bank reconciliations
    Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems
    Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions through the GL and sub-ledgers
    Ensure all balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled on a monthly basis
    Review and support the Accounts Payable process through effective supervision of the Finance Coordinator position
    Maintain and make adjustments for depreciation schedules, manage cinema inventory reconciliation, and other similar schedules
    Full cycle AR accounting responsibilities using QuickBooks, event ticketing, POS and other systems including regular reconciliation with SalesForce
    Provide monthly budget to actual and expense detail reports to internal and external stakeholders on a timely basis
    Cash management, bank reconciliation, cash flow projection and reporting

    Assist the Director of Finance & Administration during the annual budget process, by working with internal departments to identify projections and assumptions for the following year.

    Coordinate external reporting and tax filings with the city, state, and federal tax agencies as needed.
    Work with the Associate Director of Institutional Giving to ensure accurate tracking, revenue recognition, budgeting and reporting, of grants.
    Collaborate with the development team to regularly reconcile the accounting system records, provide relevant financial information as needed

    Liaise with external auditors and coordinate with internal stakeholders to meet the audit requirements for the annual financial statements for the organization including preparation of statements of restriction release, statement of functional expenses and similar schedules.

    Provide internal and external financial, program, and other related funder audits support.
    Work closely with the Director of Finance & Administration (DFA) on all finance tasks as assigned
    Attend departmental, committee and staff meetings, engage in regular supervisory meetings
    Respond to emails, voicemails and other contact in a timely manner
    Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external SIFF stakeholders

    Qualifications

    5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience
    Degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
    3+ years experience providing audit support or similar experience
    Proficient in QuickBooks & MS Office products
    Ability to follow as well as document and improve established processes and procedures
    Strong organizational skills, detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
    Ability to work independently, prioritize and shift gears quickly
    Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
    Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams in a shared/open office environment
    Advanced accounting skills including complex AJE creation, depreciation management & balance sheet account reconciliation
    Proficient using G Suite
    Curiosity and desire to learn new systems
    Demonstrated commitment to racial equity
    Have a valid authorization to work within the United States at time of application

    Desired

    Nonprofit/Arts accounting experience
    Experience with POS system reporting & retail transaction processing
    Experience with SalesForce, , Divvy or similar
    CPA or similar certification
    Love of film & understanding of Seattle arts organizations

    Work Environment:


    This position will work onsite at the SIFF Film Center offices at least 3 days per week, and is eligible to work up to .4 FTE remotely.
