    Description

    Join a High-Performance Civil Engineering Team at a Leading Nuclear Power Station

    The Nuclear Design Engineering department at a prominent nuclear power station in Virginia, is seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join their team.

    In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant by evaluating and implementing design modifications to critical nuclear systems.

    Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate design modifications to nuclear plant systems.
    • Prepare and review design modification packages using the standard design process.
    • Create and analyze site/system/construction drawings and calculations to support modifications and plant operations.
    • Assess the impact of modifications on plant design and licensing basis.
    • Provide field support for inspections of plant equipment and structures.
    • Assist with implementation of modifications.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or equivalent international accreditation).
    • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience (Engineer II) or 5+ years (Engineer III).
    • Strong commitment to safety and quality assurance in all aspects of design and operations.
    • Proficiency in engineering theories and principles.
    • Ability to interpret and apply engineering codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
    • Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong work ethic with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
    • Willingness to perform field inspections, walk-downs, and support project management activities.
    • Interest in contributing to testing and troubleshooting of plant modifications.
