    Job Description: Radiologic Technologist at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center



    Summary:
    Perform imaging exams and care for patients with a Radiology/Fluoroscopy exam ordered by a physician.

    About the Job:
    This position involves utilizing technical skills, accuracy, and critical thinking to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment. The role also focuses on ensuring patient safety, maintaining efficiency, and delivering excellent service.

    Shift:
    Monday - Friday 10:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

    Job Specific Competencies:
    • Images patients using approved protocols and raises any concerns before imaging.
    • Demonstrates independence in completing clinical competencies and addressing patient care concerns.
    • Ensures accurate patient studies review, coding, and charging.
    • Responsible for quality assurance on technical equipment and collaborates to resolve image quality issues.
    • Communicates effectively with all involved parties in a professional manner.

    • Technical accuracy: Ensures appropriate imaging procedures and minimal error rates.
    • Proficient in section-specific protocols and capable of performing specialized procedures.

    • Accurately enters data into relevant systems.

    Patient Care and Safety:
    • Demonstrates knowledge of Age-Specific Criteria and critical thinking in addressing patient care concerns.
    • Correctly identifies patients and implements safety precautions.
    • Administers contrast agents safely and follows drug administration protocols.

    Service, Productivity, and Efficiency:
    • Maintains professionalism and high productivity levels.
    • Actively participates in overall patient care activities and ensures efficient workflow.
    • Completes all duties, conducts hand-off communication, and handles system failures effectively.

    • Required education: High school diploma or equivalent with JRCERT program completion.
    • Required experience: None.
    • Required certification: ARRT registration, MRT certification (within 30 days of hire), and BLS/CPR certification.
