    Summary:

    The Senior Research Data Specialist role is responsible for creating, customizing, and maintaining a wide range of reports from databases, namely the electronic medical record and the clinical trial management system. These reports will support funding opportunities, manuscript writing, and organizational reporting for clinical research conducted at Children's Health. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a strong knowledge of Epic's Clarity database, reporting tools, and system functionalities who is skilled at working both independently and collaboratively across many Divisions in a large healthcare system.

    Responsibilities:

    Provide general program support to departmental leadership; Assist in assessing current and future requirements in support of clinical research reporting initiatives;

    Review and update departmental policies; develop, recommend, and implement policies and procedures designed to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Research Administration's reporting program

    Communicates with professional and paraprofessional personnel to deliver timely, efficient, and accurate information to all parties engaged in clinical research; Mentors other professionals; and Participates in activities external to department

    Leader role: Maintains required documentation and record keeping process; Facilitates team building; Uses appropriate measurement tools and methods in quality-improvement activities; Applies skill in strategic planning; Markets the staff development and continuing education programs; and Calculates risks and benefits of innovations

    Facilitator role: Involves the client in defining problems and seeking solutions; Collaborates within and across the organization; Identifies internal and external resources available for staff; Develops sponsor relationships with business and industry; Facilitates change; serves as a change agent; and Develops links with academia and service

    Co-facilitate committees, task forces, projects, etc.; Networks within and outside of discipline; Provides technical assistance to clients;

    Consults on performance problems, coaching and providing feedback to improve performance;

    Supports integration of clinical research into practice; Incorporates clinical research findings from a variety of disciplines into programs; Accesses resources needed to facilitate clinical research

    Coordinates clinical research activities; may assist departmental staff with projects; and Uses consultation skills internally and externally

    WORK EXPERIENCE

    At least 3 years related experience required

    Experience in reporting on Epic's Clarity Database required

    EDUCATION

    Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

    EPIC Certification in one or more reporting modules (Clarity, Caboodle, Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, etc.) required
