Join our Team: Come join an amazing team of educators working with neurodiverse 6th-12th graders in Englewood, CO. You will be a part of an innovative and creative educational environment, where you will have the small class sizes (6-10 students) needed to promote individualized and strengths based learning. Classes are mixed age and grade focusing on educating the whole student, including academic, social, and emotional growth. Students come to us with diagnoses such as ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD, Anxiety, and a wide range of learning disabilities including executive functioning challenges. Additionally, many of our students are identified as Twice Exceptional (2E), where they present with areas of great strength and co-occurring areas of weakness, which can make it challenging to consistently tap into those strength areas.

Our Mission: The mission of Humanex Academy is to support neurodiverse 6th-12th grade students looking for a safe and supportive community where they can celebrate their strengths and uniqueness, while stepping away from a deficit focused approach.
Our Need: Humanex Academy is currently looking for a teacher possessing a minimum of a Bachelor's degree who is interested in bringing creativity and out of the box thinking to their classroom.
Applicants must be detail-oriented, organized, flexible, and have an empathy based approach to student interaction and classroom management.
Preference will be given to teachers who have a Colorado Department of Education teacher's license and/or special education endorsement as well as those who have worked with neurodiverse populations in the past, especially with students on the Autism Spectrum or have been identified as 2e.
In addition, applicants must have strong communication skills, the ability and desire to collaborate with coworkers, the capacity to think quickly, and be able to make decisions independently. This position requires the ability to develop and facilitate new lessons to meet the needs of each student, accurately track and report data, and engage in administrative functions and fundraising efforts.
Applicants must be comfortable learning, teaching with, and using technology, be responsible and well-organized, have an impeccable attendance record, and be able to work within set guidelines. Applicants must also possess the ability to follow standardized assessment and confidentiality guidelines.

Monday-Friday 7:45 am-4:00 pm; this position also has weekly out of class duties including lunch supervision, pick up/drop off, etc. Extra hours may include school functions on weekends and evenings as posted on the annual calendar or as needed.
