- Assist in regional capture strategy for structural and geostructural support opportunities.
- Candidates will act as project manager and design lead, responsible for developing plans, sections, details and calculations.
- Support evaluation and design efforts for concrete and steel hydraulic structures (outlet works, spillways, concrete dams), structural steel, reinforced concrete, dams, excavation support systems, foundations, and other above and below grade structures.
- Assist with feasibility studies and other technical analysis to evaluate various construction methods, foundation options, excavation support systems, etc.
- Perform and review complex calculations in compliance with applicable building codes and standards, and specifications.
- Coordinate project submittals and facilitate regulatory agency approvals.
- Manage and mentor junior staff.
- Compile, write and prepare reports that summarize data in a technically sound, clear and concise manner.
- Perform related administrative tasks including documentation of project activities, office administration, expense reports, purchase orders, invoicing support, etc.
- Use structural and geotechnical software to perform various analyses ranging from limit-state-equilibrium analyses to two- and three-dimensional finite element analyses.
- M.S. in Structural, Geotechnical, or Civil Engineering.
- 15+ years of related experience. Significant hydraulic structures experience a plus.
- Professional Engineer certification in Colorado or ability to acquire within 6 months. PE certification in California is a plus.
- 10+ years' experience using Revit and/or CAD to complete project documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with analysis and design software (SAP200, STAAD, Risa, MathCad, etc.) Experience with Lusas and LS-Dyna is a plus.
- A strong proficiency in the development and use of advanced FEA methods and software for the analysis of various types of structures subjected to extreme loads.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, multi-office team environment and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
