    Job Purpose:
    The Field Engineer plans and supports new site integrations, site closings, software and hardware upgrades, and other onsite services. To initiate these processes, this individual collaborates with project managers, Operations team members and the IT team. They assist in the development and implementation of deployment plans, configurations, and specifications. They maintain deployment and build installation documentation.

    Field Engineers partner with the Architecture and Engineering teams to produce new features and services and should go on-site when required to test and ensure that the installed products and services meet client's requirements.


    Essential Functions:
    Operations and Support

    Pre-Project/Prep

    Travel to and from onboarding sites
    Perform discovery site visits (survey)
    Vendor research
    Generate material quotes, as needed

    Project Work

    Travel to and from project sites
    Moves, Adds, Changes or Deletions at a site level
    Deploy hardware and software/applications

    Post-Project

    Create and publish handoff documentation (solutions)
    Provide updates in CheckMK & Meraki
    Post-project support

    Adhere to and uphold security posture of the organization; escalate immediately if unsure

    Maintenance

    Create / Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures pertaining to the role
    Provide primary support of Physics applications focused on setup rather than application features or functionality
    Review ticket queues daily to provide movement on any open or assigned tickets
    Provide escalated level support for incident resolution and root cause analysis.
    Recommend operational, configuration or other procedures as they pertain to new site or software integrations/installations.

    Communications

    Update Asana with tasks completed/new tasks identified for upcoming projects
    Participate in Project and Team Meetings
    Establish and maintain communication with vendors, ION team members and other essential contacts throughout project duration

    Qualifications and Education Requirements
    Associates degree in computer science/information technology, industry certification (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.), 3 years' industry experience; or, equivalent combination education, certification and experience
    One+ year experience Windows Server technologies
    Able to achieve two (2) relevant certifications to the organization such as:

    Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA)

    Windows Server Admin Fundamentals
    Windows OS Fundamentals
    Networking Fundamentals

    Citrix Certified Associate
    CompTIA (A+, Network+, Security+, Server+)
    Ivanti

    Ability to work a flexible schedule (including overtime, and weekends), as necessary.
