The Apprentice Shop Service Technician will assist the Shop Service Supervisor through on-the-job training (OJT) while learning and developing as a technicianEssential Functions:
Assists in performing maintenance and repair of rental fleetAssists with installation, repairs, maintenance, and replacement of mechanical and electrical componentsExamines and test equipment, components, and parts to ensure the proper functioningAdjusts, connects, or disconnects wiring, piping, tubing, and other partsAttends required classroom instructions by Pro-Tech and HDSI classesMaintains safety training and proceduresReceives coaching, mentoring, and feedback from service leadershipRequires regular and punctual employee attendanceWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsPerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of basic arithmetic and its applicationsKnowledge of computer software and hardware applicationsAbility to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writingAbility to read, write, and interpret informationAbility to follow directions and guidelinesAbility to receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from Service LeadershipAbility to learn many different types of repair procedures on a variety of mechanical equipmentAbility to read and understand information and ideas presented in writingAbility to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentencesEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements:

Work Environment:
