    Description

    Job Title: Bus Driver

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a qualified Bus Driver to transport students safely and efficiently to and from school. The ideal candidate will have a valid Nebraska driver's license, a clean driving record, and excellent interpersonal skills.

    Responsibilities

    1. Drive a school transportation vehicle within a prescribed route(s) in accordance with time schedules
    2. Pick up and discharge students at designated stops
    3. Transport students and teachers on field trips to various locations; plan necessary routes and stops as needed
    4. Operate transportation software to scan student badges
    5. Operate two-way radio
    6. Comply with federal, state, and School District policies, procedures, and regulations
    7. Maintain order and proper discipline of student passengers according to district policy
    8. Conduct safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle daily
    9. Report needed mechanical repairs when necessary
    10. Service buses with gas, diesel fuel, and oil; check and when necessary fill tires and batteries
    11. Perform periodical safety drills as required by law; complete necessary reports upon request
    12. Maintain cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operating condition
    13. Complete periodic mileage and other reports including passenger counts
    14. Attend various meetings regarding safety, first aid, and training updates as required
    15. Attend driver training programs to maintain current knowledge of Nebraska Motor Vehicle Code and the Education Code as it applies to the operation of vehicles in the transportation of school children
    16. Wash bus as needed
    17. Perform related duties as required
