Viridian Staffing's ) Client is looking for an experienced cannabis culinary professional to join this fast growing cannabis company as an Edibles Chef about thirty minutes outside of the downtown Tampa, Florida, area.

Founded in 2013, Viridian Staffing ) is the premier staffing, recruiting, and HR consulting firm solely dedicated to organizations in and supporting the commercial, medical, and industrial cannabis / hemp industry.

In this role, you will work closely with operations, sales, and compliance to lead the team in the production of edible products. You will oversee the continued scaling up of kitchen / edibles operations, while closely following the established company recipes. Using your proven success in cannabis edible production that has been sold in the commercial cannabis or hemp markets, you will also be responsible for cooking and quality control for all ingredients and final products. You'll refine SOP's and ensure the operation team is in compliance with all regulations and SOPs relating to safety, security, and health. Your prior team members would consider you a hands-on leader with a 'can-do' attitude, who is dedicated to setting the organization up for success.

Ideally, your background should be a Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or relevant degree and at least 2+ years of experience in cannabis or hemp edible production in the regulated cannabis marketplace. The ideal candidate for this position will have 1+ years of experience in managing a kitchen / edibles lab and have previous experience working in the Food & Beverage/CPG industry. Mathematical skills are required, such as (but not limited to) fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, etc. You have excellent communication skills, enabling you to explain (and you enjoy explaining) complex scientific information to non-scientific individuals. This position does require the ability to stand for up to 8 hours, to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and work around heated kettles and ovens. Compensation: $18-$23/hour depending on experience
