    Description

    Job Summary

    Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), offers a unique career opportunity for those with Merchant Mariner Credentials.

    As a Marine Interdiction Agent, you will perform marine-based law enforcement operations to detect, prevent, and apprehend terrorists, contraband, and persons attempting to enter the United States illegally.

    Salary and Benefits

    The salary range is $73,939–$96,116 per year, based on qualifications for the GS-11 grade level and possible extra compensation based on duty location.

    Duty Locations

    You may be assigned to any geographic location within the Southwest Region, Southeast Region, or Caribbean Air and Marine Branch.

    Qualifications

    To be eligible, you must have a qualifying Merchant Mariner Credential and meet one of the following requirements:

    • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
    • A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
    • A combination of education and experience.

    Other Requirements

    You must be a U.S. Citizen, have had primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years, and meet age and veteran's preference eligibility requirements.
