    Title: Electronic Security System Technician

    KBR's Defense Systems Engineering (DSE) business unit is looking for Electronic Security System Technicians to join the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Operating Unit. CIP specializes in the design, installation, and upkeep of Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and Utilities/Control Systems for the DoD, FAA, and Federal Law Enforcement.

    Job Summary: The Electronic Security System Technicians will handle troubleshooting, component replacement, and circuit wiring; fixing electronic equipment; and performing test readings using instruments like digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. This role demands knowledge of basic and advanced electrical and electronic principles related to security systems and facility equipment.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Provide guidance to a small EMT II team under the project/program manager's supervision.
    • Install cabling and infrastructure including EMT conduit, cable trays, cables, and fiber optics. Set up CCTV IP cameras, access control, intrusion detection panels, and field devices following the Installation Design Plan (IDP).
    • Conduct function tests and analysis on installed systems.
    • Identify and fix equipment malfunctions and failures.
    • Dress cables and label devices correctly as per the IDP.
    • The ideal candidate should have a strong team-working background, be proactive, work independently with minimal guidance, and meet crucial demands.
    • Must possess outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with great attention to detail.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or GED.
    • Formal electronics training from Technical School, Class A or B military school in electronics/communications, or four-year electronics apprentice program. Includes Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Connector Making/Repairing.
    • Eight (8) years of hands-on experience including electronics repair, maintenance, and checkout. Three (3) years of experience in electronics installation.
    • Proficiency in MS Office software products (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Candidates will undergo a background investigation. Secret Clearance is desirable.
    • Preference for candidates with OEM factory training from Identiv, Bosch, and/or Cisco Switches.

    This role falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA).
