    Safety, Health, and Environmental Technician

    Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.

    Primary Responsibilities as a Safety, Health, and Environmental Technician


    • Conduct worksite audits to identify potential risks and ensure regulatory compliance.


    • General knowledge of regulatory compliance with OSHA, DOT, RCRA, DoD M, and DoD M regulations and other federal, state, county and city regulations and codes preferred.


    • Will observe operations to identify compliance with procedure controls.


    • Prepare written reports and procedures working closely with other health, environmental, safety and security staff and consultants.


    • Will support hazard analysis activities and implementing environmental, health, and safety improvements.


    • Investigate workplace accidents and complaints.


    • Will provide assistance and escort contractors and consultants as needed.


    • Sustain 5S standards.


    • Ability to obtain/maintain BATF approval to work with our products.


    • Other duties as required.

    Required Experience & Skills as a Safety, Health, and Environmental Technician


    • Experience in chemical, manufacturing, or explosives industries preferred.


    • Proficient working knowledge of all MS Office Suite products.


    • DOT Hazmat and RCRA HAZWOPER certifications (may be completed after hire).


    • Ability to prepare comprehensive written reports.


    • Excellent speaking and presentation skills.


    • Knowledge of industrial work processes, material handling techniques, and proper management of hazardous materials.


    • Ability to obtain Security Clearance and ATF approval to handle products.


    • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire.


    • HAZWOPER yearly certification must be maintained/renewed throughout employment (employer-paid).

    Working Conditions

    Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environments. Must have the manual dexterity of hands and body to operate office equipment, motor vehicles, hiking/walking in varied terrain outdoors. Must be able to manage frequent interruptions, high work volumes, multiple tasks, team-oriented activities and prompt decision-making. Must constantly maintain concentration, accuracy, ethical behavior, and a professional demeanor. Must be able to file and lift/carry/push and/or pull 50 lbs.
