Summary of the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team in Hobart, IN. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in maintaining efficient production and distribution processes. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, your responsibilities will include pulling orders from inventory, transporting production materials and supplies, and organizing finished products.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safely operate various Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs)
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products
- Transport materials between different areas within the facility
- Stack materials in designated storage areas and manage inventory
- Support welding and production equipment operators when necessary

Requirements:

- High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
- 1 year of material handling experience in an industrial setting or relevant training
- Previous experience with side-loader forklifts and handling long products is highly preferred
- Proficient in forklift operation

Development Expectations:

Within the initial 3 months, you will be expected to:

- Efficiently operate various Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs)
- Conduct inspections and report any equipment issues
- Safely handle bundles of long products
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of Atkore safety protocols
- Load and unload semi trucks with proficiency
