    Position Overview:

    The primary focus of J-U-B ENGINEERS, Inc. (J-U-B) is Enhancing Community Development Together. We encourage a collaborative environment to address challenges that benefit society – while offering opportunities for personal and professional growth.

    We are enhancing our planning services in Utah and seeking an experienced land use planner at a mid to senior level. Throughout the company, J-U-B has a skilled team of certified planners, landscape architects, GIS professionals, transportation, and environmental planners who collaborate on a wide range of projects. This role calls for a dynamic individual who is enthusiastic about contributing to a high-performing team and is eager to lead various projects across the region. The aim of this position is to expand planning services within Utah communities.

    When working alongside J-U-B's multidisciplinary project teams, potential responsibilities may include:

    • Researching, analyzing, and developing general plans, subarea plans, transportation plans, and other land use plans and revisions.
    • Conducting research on various topics to support planning and development projects, such as gathering, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data.
    • Assisting in reviewing land development proposals to ensure alignment with relevant plans, guidelines, and regulations.
    • Engaging with technical and citizens advisory committees to present findings, lead discussions, or formulate recommendations.
    • Delivering effective presentations to the public, planning committees and commissions, and local decision-makers.
    • Evaluating and proposing suitable designations for future land use, zoning and subdivision maps, transportation systems, and other related documents.
    • Developing proposals for planning projects, outlining technical approaches, work scopes, cost estimates, and assessing contract terms.
    • Collaborating efficiently with project managers, planners, public engagement specialists, engineers, and other experts. Proficiency in leading project teams as necessary.
    • Maintaining a cooperative and adaptable approach to work assignments, demonstrating flexibility, proactive involvement, and a positive attitude.
    Requirements:
    • A degree from an accredited college or university in planning, geography, community development, landscape architecture, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • At least 5 years of experience in public or private sector planning, with a focus on General and Specific Plans, implementation, local land use regulations, and community development initiatives.
    • Preferred certification in AICP.
    • Strong self-motivation, collaborative spirit, and a drive to see tasks through to completion.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, computer proficiency, and organizational abilities, including technical writing.

    Salary Range: Commensurate with experience. Alongside competitive pay, J-U-B provides a comprehensive benefits package, performance-based bonuses, a flexible work schedule, and a team-oriented, supportive work environment.

    Compensation details: 35-45 Hourly Wage
