    Job Description

    The University of Nevada, Reno's Northern Nevada International Center (NNIC) has expanded its scope of services and is seeing a return of heavy in-person programming through the International Visitor Leadership Program/Exchanges Division. The NNIC is seeking to hire a temporary hourly, part-time driver needed for short-term NNIC International Exchange and Refugee Resettlement Programs in Summer 2024.

    Responsibilities
    • Driving US Department of State delegations or Refugee Program clients to local and regional appointments, site visits, and home host receptions in NNIC shuttle buses or vans
    • Communicating w/Program and Transportation Managers in real-time to address any program changes, participant needs or vehicle / maintenance issues
    • NNIC Driver is expected to properly fuel the vehicles before or after time with the group, and clean interior/exteriors as needed
    • May need to assist with loading/unloading luggage for Exchange program delegates to and from the airport and hotels
    • Occasionally may need to help with NNIC Box Truck donations
    Required Qualifications
    • Clean Driving Record and Valid Driver's License is required
    • Be able to drive a large SUV, passenger van, and/or box truck; Must be comfortable driving 12-passenger vans
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
    • Ability to continuously sit for extended periods of time
    • Ability to drive in variable situations due to weather
    Pursuant to NRS , this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances .

    • Knowledge of the area's points of interest is valuable
    • Commercial Driver's License is not required
