    Visit Responsibilities As a Global Health Specialist you will:

    Serve as a point-of-contact in the deployment and support of overseas assignees and their dependents in support of CDC's global public health programs as it related to overseas assignee benefits and entitlements.

    Resolve issues and problems that are outside the scope of established guidelines, coordinating with management officials across the agency and departmental lines as needed to ensure appropriate resolution.

    Assure CDC's compliance with HHS and DOS requirements for clearance of international health activities from the point of view of U.S.

    foreign policy and diplomatic relations with foreign countries. Analyze financial reports detailing relocation activities to identify successes and potential problems. Provide advice and guidance to CDC staff both domestically and international on relocation issues.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment Due to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) process enhancement to use Shared Certificates throughout the Agency, some of the requirements below may differ:
    US Citizenship is required. Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service (see ). May be subject to a Background/Security Investigation. Security clearance level may differ from the position announced when certificates are shared. One-year probationary period may be required. This position may be subject to a Collective Bargaining Agreement. Time in grade (TIG) must be met within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. This position may be subject to the OGE Financial Disclosure requirements of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978 (P.L CDC inspires public confidence in its trust responsibilities and mission by maintaining high ethical principles.

    If selected, you may be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE Form 450) to determine if a conflict or an appearance of a conflict exists between your financial interest and your prospective position with the agency.

    If identified, this will be an annual requirement.

    In accordance with Executive Order 12564 of September 15, 1986, The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is A Drug-Free Federal Workplace.

    This position may require a Drug Test and be subject to Random Drug Testing.

    The position may require the submission of a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and be subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing upon hiring.

    If required to submit to urinalysis, the appointment to the position will be contingent upon a negative test result. Temporary Promotion
    • Not to exceed 1 Year, at management's discretion, may become permanent without further competition or may be extended up to five years in one year increments.
    Employee may be returned at any time to the position from which temporarily promoted, or to a different position of equivalent grade and pay.

    A statement of understanding (SOU) must be signed by the employee for the initial temporary promotion and all extensions that are subsequently approved.

    Qualifications All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: evaluating issues related to global relocations, providing oversight and guidance for relocation issues.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

    Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

    You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Temporary Promotion

    Education Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience.

    An official transcript will be required if you are selected. College or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.     FOREIGN EDUCATION:
    Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.

    You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S.
