    Description
    Project Accountant


    The Project Accountant will work directly under the corporate controller with their primary focus being on the accounting processes related to project developments.

    You will report to the corporate controller and have a diverse set of accounting- and control-related responsibilities primarily focusing on development projects.

    This role requires strong analytical skills, understanding of accounting principles, and attention to detail.


    A successful candidate will want to take initiative while maintaining a strong sense of responsibility and an eagerness to learn and develop their skillset.

    This is a full-time in office position.


    JOB DUTIES:

    • Maintaining records of financial transactions by coding expenses to appropriate budget lines
    • Communicating with project managers as questions and issues arise
    • Prepare journal entries and maintain multiple general ledgers
    • Reconcile monthly bank statements to the general ledger
    • Record and process accounts payable and accounts receivable
    • Process cash receipts and prepare bank deposits
    • Prepare monthly reporting packages for management
    • Monitor daily cash balances
    • Assist with preparation and maintenance of project budgets
    • Assist management with special projects and other tasks as assigned
    • Maintain open communication with project management and corporate controller
    Job Requirements

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor"s degree in accounting or comparable experience.
    • Experience with AR/AP and Bookkeeping
    • A 'can do' productive self-motivated attitude, willing to learn accounting tasks and concepts
    • Ability to learn and work in multiple software systems/applications.
    • Intellectual curiosity with a genuine passion/interest in the real estate industry and expanding their knowledge base
    • Team-oriented with strong integrity and professionalism
    • Bright and flexible with strong organizational skills
    • Strong work ethic, driven, detail-oriented and desire to learn
    • Prior experience in real estate or project accounting is a plus
