    JOB PURPOSE

    Enter the workforce with a leading company in the pork industry Work full-time and grow your skills as a management trainee to prepare for advanced roles at our company in Guymon, Okla. You can expect training that will prepare you for a supervisory or technical role of responsibility that allows you to make an impact in our company. You will spend 8-16 months learning our business and developing your skills to advance your career in the company while receiving technical, business management and leadership training. While gaining exposure to our integrated business, you will also receive career guidance and mentorship from our leadership team

    Positions available: farm operations, pork processing, food safety and quality assurance, environmental health and safety, feed milling, industrial maintenance and shipping and logistics.

    RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Full time, salaried position
  • 8-16 months until first promotion into role of responsibility, depending on the department
  • Specific technical training related to the department hired into
  • Supervisory, leadership and problem-solving training
  • Orientation and integrated business overview with exposure to and understanding of core areas of the business, including support departments
  • Trainees may be asked to work in various areas and locations as needed throughout the training period

  • REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year university or college, an associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related fields of study: animal science, agribusiness, general business, management, operations management, food science, ag education, and other related degrees or experience.
  • Flexible and able to work on assigned weekends (Saturday/Sunday) and be on call, when assigned, to resolve any issues that arise.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating, encouraging, coaching and leading a team to reach set goals.
  • Good critical thinking and judgement skills to reach the best possible solution to a problem.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people such as employees, managers, and senior management.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds and sometimes push/and or move up to 300 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gases at low concentrations. The employee is frequently exposed to waste material, feed and hog dust.
