    Part Time | Day Shift - Flexible 8 hour shifts between 7am - 7pm

    in Columbus, Ohio.

    Faith Mission

    is one of the largest homeless shelters in Columbus, Ohio

    , providing meals and shelter to men, women and Veterans with dignity and compassion.

    What will I do as a

    Donation Coordinator

    with Lutheran Social Services?


    Works in collaboration with the Philanthropy and Volunteerism team to oversee and coordinate in-kind donations and in-kind donation center volunteers.

    Effectively communicates with program staff to identify and respond to the need for in-kind donations.

    Maintains the organization of storage areas and supply of needed items at each shelter location.

    Responds to email and phone inquiries from donors and potential donors.

    Coordinates receiving of large in-kind donations from corporate, church and community partners.

    Staffs the in-kind donation drop-off site; interfacing with donors to provide receipts and education regarding in-kind needs.

    Tracks & reports in-kind donations using spreadsheets.

    Ensures a positive experience for volunteers in the in-kind donation center and at special events.

    Assists Volunteer Managers in training, supervising, and recognizing in-kind donation center volunteers.

    Updates volunteer database and calendar as needed.

    Collaborates with the Dir. of Communications to support social media content and maintain updated information on in-kind donations page of website.

    Regularly updates Amazon and other online wish lists to reflect current needs.

    Transports needed items to multiple program locations using company or personal vehicle.

    Coordinates with partner organizations to receive, pick up or transfer donated items, as necessary.

    Requirements for a

    Donation Coordinator


    with Lutheran Social Services:
    A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED

    One year in customer service

    One year in social services preferred.

    One year working with volunteers or in-kind donations preferred.

    Must be proficient in Microsoft office.

    Flexibility in managing schedule including weekends and evening hours.

    Valid Ohio driver's license, access to reliable insured transportation and ability to meet LSS insurance standards required.

    Ability to drive a passenger van or use own vehicle to transport donations, with mileage reimbursement.

    Ability to use/learn to use a pallet jack and freight elevator.
