Areas of Responsibility

As a Metals Manufcaturing Engineer, you will work within the Group Process Development team and use skills related to sustaining and developing the manufacturing processes as part of a cross-functional team. The Process Engineers primary responsibilities are debugging, observing, and expediting shop orders. You will assist with developing and updating engineering documents and investigating new tooling, materials, manufacturing processes, and technologies.

Project Management

Project management skills, including planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks, are valuable to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Strong communication skills are essential for effectively conveying ideas, collaborating on projects, and presenting findings or recommendations.

Problem Solving

You will be responsible for identifying and resolving issues that arise. This will include taking action to solve the problem by generating ideas for the solution, finding out the reasons behind the problem, and implementing the solution.

Performance Objectives

Within your first 6 months, you will be responsible for learning about our company, contributing to various projects and leading project management initiatives.

During your first 30 days, you will:

• Learn about Applieds mission and vision and take part in a variety of Applied Learning foundational courses.
• Discuss your goals and expectations with your team leaders and read and review all relevant team resources and materials.
• Immerse yourself in team meetings and discussions.

Within 60 days, you will:

• Exhibit a strong technical understanding of the product lines and projects
• Support team meetings and agendas.
• Take on one or more projects that require low to moderate guidance.

Within 90 days to 1 year, you will:

• Develop interpersonal connections and relationships with others to effectively accomplish project objectives and deliverables.
• Lead moderate to complex projects with minimal guidance or direction.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Applied Medical's Quality Management System and effectively troubleshoot challenges or obstacles that may affect project timelines.
• Handle a variety of projects on your own.

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

• At least one year of relevant Engineering work experience
• Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent
• Experience with manufacturing equipment and processes related to Metals and post processing
• Experience with Solidworks, Microsoft Office suite, and Microsoft Project
• Excellent technical writing
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC)?
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Working knowledge of a variety of materials and mechanical designs
• Design for manufacturability
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Mechanical aptitude and detail oriented?

The following skills and attributes are preferred:

• Mechanical or Machining Engineering with at least two years of project work, design, and shop experience
• Machine shop and fabricating experience
• Experience with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Millsm Swiss Screw Machining, Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM), Stamping, and Laser cutting
• Understanding of manufacturing and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) quality systems?
• Experience with software such as Solidworks, PowerMill, and MasterCAM
• Experience with Minitab or other statistical analysis software
• Leadership or project management experience
• Excellent organization, communication and documentation skills
• Experience in the medical device industry

The base compensation range for this role is $ $95000 / year for the position in California. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries in Californiabased on the date of this job posting.
