Surgical Tech Educator
Pay rate: $50,000–$62,000 annually
Location: Manatee County, FL

What You'll Do
Teach and mentor secondary (dual-enrolled) and post-secondary students in Surgical Technology.
Lead and manage the CTE curriculum, ensuring alignment with district, state, and college standards.
Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
Oversee student testing, skill assessments, and program evaluations.
Use industry trends, employer feedback, and performance data to strengthen instruction.
Support student organizations such as SkillsUSA or HOSA.
Collaborate with staff, administration, and community partners to build a high-performing program.
Participate in accreditation activities, program advisory meetings, and college events.
Maintain equipment, classrooms, records, and program materials.
Represent the program in the community and support college recruitment and student success initiatives.
What Makes You a Strong Fit
Bachelor's degree + 1 year of experience OR Associate degree + 2 years OR High School/GED + 3 years in the CTE field.
Certified (or certifiable) as a CTE instructor in the appropriate subject area, or eligible for state certification.
National or state-recognized Surgical Technology certification approved by the Florida Department of Education.
Strong communication skills, organization, and the ability to manage groups effectively.
Motivational, student-centered approach to teaching.
Solid understanding of Surgical Technology equipment, procedures, and best practices.
Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to dynamic instructional needs.
