    The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

    Job Summary

    The Distribution Manager provides guidance and supervision to ensure the accomplishment of distribution center goals, including those related to budget and cost structure.

    • This position is located in Lafayette, IN and does not provide relocation
    • The hours of this role are typically Monday - Friday, 1st shift, however Distribution Managers may be required to work overtime depending on the needs of the facility.
    What You Will Do
    • Making workflow decisions under the direction of management. Improving service levels and costs for distribution center operations.
    • Supervising and motivating distribution center employees through effective coaching and training, clear communication of job expectations, and positive reinforcement of exemplary performance; maintaining a positive distribution center working environment.
    • Implementing productivity, quality, and service standards. Resolving problems and identifying areas for improvements. Contributing performance data to strategic plans and reviews.
    • Ensuring all equipment receives preventative maintenance and repairs, as necessary.
    • Adhering to requirements and procedures for safety regulations.

    • Distribution Center Management: Knowledge of distribution processes, issues and considerations; ability to effectively manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory to stores and/or customers. Helps minimize bottlenecks and delays and the resulting impact on operating costs.
