- Hands-on experience with control systems for Plant and Production Equipment.
- Experience in low voltage power distribution, circuit protection and fuse replacement.
- Experience in installation, setup and maintenance of control equipment including flow switches/meters, photo eyes, proximity switches, level transmitters/switches, DP cells, pressure, and temperature transmitters.
- Maintain function and reliability of production and plant systems and associated equipment by executing a preventive maintenance program; Inspect electrical and automation systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Able to install EMT and rigid conduit.
- Perform preventive/corrective maintenance and investigate problems with mechanical equipment (e.g., Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electric Equipment) following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, rigging, and hand/power tools.
- Provide feedback on equipment condition while performing preventive maintenance activities.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Troubleshoot and modify PLCs, controls, meters, and sensor hardware.
- Guide and assist maintenance mechanics with equipment repairs.
- Carry out daily maintenance activities and assigned work orders. Document progress and results.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards; works within site policies and procedures.
- Effectively use safety equipment such as protective clothing, and personal protective equipment.
- Maintain ongoing necessary/required training, certifications, and education.
- Assist supervisors in after-hours maintenance calls.
- 2-year technical degree in Electro-Mechanical or equivalent certification.
- 0 to 2 years work experience (internship acceptable).
- Combination of equivalent education and experience acceptable.
- Proficiency with electrical and mechanical system troubleshooting with a working knowledge of AC and DC voltages and mechanical power transmission systems.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Effective written/oral communication skills and inter-personal skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Ability to work multiple shifts and overtime as required (including some weekends).
- Regular and reliable attendance.
