    Job Description Qualifications:

    Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently seeking Senior Electrical Design Engineers to become part of the Commercial Modifications and Engineering Special Projects team in Long Beach, California.

    Electrical Design Engineers work with system owners to develop electrical designs and documentation.

    Produce electrical systems to support postproduction modifications - everything from McDonald Douglas MD series airplanes to the latest Boeing 777X aircraft.

    BGS provides commercial airline customers the engineering to modify and upgrade the avionics on their aircraft as a contracted service.

    Position Responsibilities:
    Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs. Analyzes results and performs design reviewsDevelops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas)

    Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests). Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commoditiesAnalyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated designCollect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sourcesVerification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures (e.g. DO-160 and D6 requirements), including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirementsAssess and document test or analysis data to show complianceThis position is hybrid.

    This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

    This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science5+ years related work experiencePreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures (e.g.

    DO-160 and D6 requirements), including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirementsAbility to assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance. Knowledge of Electrical and/or Environmental qualification test procedures is a plus.

    Familiarity with commercial aircraft FARs is a plusKnowledge of analog and digital circuit design and packaging techniquesKnowledge of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) considerations with respect to electrical/electronic design (e.g.

    , wire harness design, grounding and shielding design techniques, lightning protection)

    Ability to integrate hardware and software components into a functional systemKnowledge of testing, usability practicesTypical Education & Experience:
    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.

    Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.

    PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Summary pay range:
