    Description

    Company: a rapidly growing specialty finance fintech which provides small to medium-sized businesses with access to flexible financing, from business term loans to revenue-based funding.

    Role: The Underwriter is part of the credit team and is responsible for reviewing the loan applications of clients and their businesses., to determine the risk involved and determining whether the applicant will be approved by evaluating the eligibility of the applicant for revenue-based financing or term loan funding.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Analyze application data including financial statements, bank statements, credit card statements, business/personal credit & due diligence platforms.
    • work with commercial banks & private credit shops to identify funding opportunities and source deals
    • Interact and present regularly with CFOs and other c-level executives
    • Verify the applicants information ensuring documents are valid and fulfil the loan application requirements.
    • Evaluate business applicants credit worthiness in accordance with company underwriting guidelines, across the firm's portfolio of products.
    • Speak with customers to understand their funding needs.
    • Create structured products to tailor needs of the client using background due diligence to evaluate credit risk.
    • Perform accurate analysis of any applicant file with any degree of difficulty and effectively transmit underwriting decisions to relationship managers both orally and in writing.
    • Provide technical and analytical guidance in gathering and analyzing financial information and interface with Senior Management to discuss underwriting and risk decisions and strategies.
    • Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.

    Note: The firm is based in Greenwich, Connecticut and the role operates on a hybrid basis, so you must be comfortable commuting 3X/week.
