    What Your Job Will Be Like:

    We are seeking to hire a Facilities Engineering Project Manager within Department 4131 Capital Acquisition (CapAx) Program Management to lead initiation phase planning and execution of Line-Item projects and Extended Life Programs (ELP).

    This position will work closely with peers from other organizations to develop customer requirements for complex and high-rigor projects. These projects will be managed at a portfolio level within an ELP to ensure critical capabilities are sustained until a major recapitalization Line-Item capital project takes place. In addition to the project and portfolio management duties, this role will contribute to development of key scope, cost, and schedule inputs in accordance with DOE Order 413.3b, supporting all phases of the Critical Decision process.

    On any given day, you may be called on to:
    • Collaborate with a matrixed team of internal Subject Matter Experts, CapAx Line customers, Contractors, Facilities Managers, Strategic Planners and other external customers to translate needs into executable requirements for capital projects.
    • Understand and set the project's technical design requirements for space, facilities, and utilities in accordance with the respective security, operational, safety, and environmental constraints; translate these requirements into a portfolio of sequenced projects to be executed in a deliberate way.
    • Apply technical expertise (such as engineering, architectural, and other relevant technical expertise) to evaluate capability of existing sites, facilities, and infrastructure to meet programmatic needs.
    • Apply project management skills including project plan development and execution, project monitoring and control, and integrated change control for a wide variety of projects.
    • Be accountable for the project's alignment to DOE O 413.3b requirements and primary point of contact to NNSA project execution counterparts.
    • Develop and implement the project's human resource plan including organizational planning, resource acquisition, and team development.
    • Prepare and present concise and accurate reports which highlight key technical and programmatic issues and summarize information at a manageable level.
    • Be responsible for facilities and portfolio program management, developing long-term capital plans that align with strategic business goals and monitor progress against these plans.
    This position does not have any direct reports.

    The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.

    Salary Range:

    $88,600 - $172,300

    *Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

    Qualifications We Require:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Business plus five (5) years of demonstrated experience in Facilities Program/Project Management; or a Master's degree in relevant discipline plus one (1) year of demonstrated experience in Facilities Project Management.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.
    Qualifications We Desire:
    • Experience with DOE O 413.3b, preferably as a Project Manager, Deputy Project Manager, or Control Account Manager.
    • Experience with managing large capital projects of over $20M.
    • Experience as a portfolio manager of capital projects
    • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification.
    • Excellent communicator who can articulate needs, deadlines, and risks to internal and external customers.
    • Insight into the processes and missions of the NNSA enterprise and/or Sandia's mission support organizations that collaborate with Capital Projects.
    About Our Team:

    Department 4131 Capital Acquisition Program Management is responsible for foundational facilities program management and processes that integrate facilities projects across planning, execution, and program requirements. Our team also shepherds any potential pre-CD-0 projects at SNL.
